If you're shopping for a parent
You set it up. They use it. You both relax.
You're worried about Mom or Dad missing a dose. We get it. MedReminder is the
easiest app you can install on their phone — no account, no learning curve.
Set it up in 2 minutes from your phone or theirs. If they miss a dose, you
can see it at a glance.
i.Caregiver mode. See the week at a glance — including anything missed.
ii.Two-minute setup. Add medications by name. Pick a time. Done. No accounts, no email verification, no five-step wizard.
iii.No upsell pressure. The free tier is genuinely useful. We'll never nag your parent to upgrade.
How it works
Three big ideas. Nothing more.
We could have built a kitchen sink. We didn't. MedReminder does three things, and tries to do them better than anything else.
Extra-large buttons. Designed for hands and eyes that have done a lot.
Every button is at least the size of a fingertip — not a thumbprint. Text is
set at 20 pixels or more across the whole app. No fly-out menus. No tiny grey
icons that ask you to guess. If your reading glasses are on the table, you'll
still be fine.
Gentle reminders. Quiet sounds. Never demanding.
One soft chime, once. If a dose is missed, a single follow-up nudge — not
three buzzing alarms in a row. You can confirm a dose without unlocking the
phone. The app will not ever flash, vibrate aggressively, or make you feel
scolded.
Caregiver sharing. So your family can help — without hovering.
An adult son or daughter can be added in 30 seconds — they see the week at
a glance, including anything missed. No "live tracking," no daily
reports. Privacy is the default. You can revoke access from your phone at
any time.
The whole app is this calm. One screen. Three buttons. Today.
Honest answers
Questions worth asking.
Is this safe? Will my parent's data stay private?
Yes. The medication list and dose history live on your parent's phone and on our servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. We don't sell data. We don't show ads. We don't share anything with insurers, pharmacies, or advertisers. If you delete the account, the data is gone within 30 days — we'll send a confirmation when it's done.
What happens if my parent misses a dose?
The app sends one clear reminder at the scheduled time — and the dose can be confirmed right from the notification, without unlocking the phone. If it isn't confirmed, it's marked as missed in the history, and with caregiver sharing on, your family can see it in their week view. Never a phone call, never an alarm. Nothing else happens.
My parent isn't very comfortable with phones. Will this actually work for them?
Probably, yes. The whole app is one screen — today's medications, with one tap to confirm. There's no login, no email password, no menus to get lost in. Most setups take under two minutes. If it doesn't work for your parent in the first week, email us and we'll personally help — or refund anything you paid.
Does it have large buttons for poor eyesight?
Yes — that's the point. Every button is at least the size of a fingertip, and text is set at 20px or larger across the whole app. There are no tiny grey icons to hunt for and no fly-out menus. Even if reading glasses are across the room, the screen still works.
Can I keep track of my parent's medications from another city?
Yes. Turn on caregiver sharing and you add yourself in about 30 seconds, then see the week at a glance — including anything missed. No live tracking, no daily reports, no phone calls. Privacy is the default, and access can be revoked from your parent's phone at any time.
Does it work without the internet?
Reminders work offline. The app only needs the internet to sync history with a caregiver. So even if Wi-Fi is down or the data plan is paused, dose reminders will still happen on time.
What does it actually cost?
Free for up to 3 medications, with unlimited reminders — that's enough for most people. The paid plan adds unlimited medications, caregiver sharing, refill alerts, and a dose history you can show to your doctor. It comes monthly or yearly, and the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Prices differ by country, so the App Store or Google Play shows you your own price before you confirm. Cancel any time from your phone's settings; we don't make you call.
How is this different from Medisafe or MyTherapy?
Medisafe and MyTherapy are capable, feature-rich apps — and that's the difference. MedReminder does less, on purpose: one screen, extra-large buttons, one tap to confirm, and gentle reminders that never nag. It's built first for the senior who finds most apps overwhelming, and second for the adult child who wants quiet peace of mind rather than a dashboard. No ads, no data selling — and we'll always say it complements a weekly pillbox instead of replacing it.
Will this replace my parent's pillbox?
No, and we don't want it to. A weekly pillbox is one of the best tools we know of. MedReminder is the gentle voice that says it's time, and the place where the week is written down if anyone ever needs to look back.
